I have read an article in one job search website and i want to share the thing that i have learned. the author of that article is focusing on the competition that most applicants are experiencing nowadays, the author suggest 3 things to avoid so that you will be competitive to other applicants:

1) Don’t be pessimestic! think of positive ways and thoughts, avoid negative thinking so that you will not be pulled down because most applicants are thinking ahead of how if they failed? how if they are not accepted for that job? instead of comparing yourself to others or by thinking of negative thoughts think of ways that will help you pass the application process.

2) Don’t be alone! socialized with your friends, relatives, or neighbor so that you can ask them about job hunting and job searching. they may also help you by referring you their company or by helping you to get a job.

3) Don’t ever go to the company if you are not prepared! because you will just waste your time if you are not prepared.

jobhunt3.jpgThis is one thing a lot of us take fore granted, job satisfaction. People in offices do jobs for decades even if they hate it and are not totally satisfied with it for the simple reason that it is a job. Well, this has to end and people have to realize that it has a lot to do with the quality of life as a whole. Employees who begrudgingly stay with their jobs for fear of not having one are totally wrong in their concept for the employment market is evolving into a dynamic one that needs people who are energetic and motivated. The shift to telecommuting has allowed a more informal approach to employment with people having the ability to engage in more than one job. So take a look at your career and see if you are happy, you might be sacrificing your family’s happiness for a job you hate

jh1.jpgDo you know that sending in resumes to all your prospective employers can cost you a lot of money in paper and printing costs? Be sure to check if they allow or only accept electronic versions to save you the trouble. Make it clean and concise with all the necessary information such as experience and educational background. Make a short narrative that describes you in the business environment but make it short. Include past employers if there are any for they can make your case stronger. Do use valid character references for some firms do verify the information. With a clean and proper resume, you’re on your way to an interview with a little more confidence and finesse.

It sounds like an “easier-said-than-done” situation, and it is. To have a sure shot job by the end of the month, you might have to pass 10-20 resumes to different companies of your choice (or sometimes if you are really desperate, companies that is least of your liking). You have to put persuading and impressive contents in your resume to make you look credible enough for a company to let you take an entrance test or an interview (make sure the contents are true/real, don’t make up one or fake it). You have to be the highest or ace the test to get in the cut. You have to be confident when answering interview questions.

Looking for a job is not a new experience for anyone who ever applied for college in a university or transferred to a new school. It is not always easy to get in to your preferred institution because you have to pass an application form and other requirements, pass their entrance examinations, answer interview questions, and the like. After that, all you can do is pray and wait for a confirmation that you have passed the following and after that, what you have to do is talk to them about when the first day is and what school materials are needed to get you prepared for the big day.

In a market full of companies selling similar products or provide common services, there will always be competition. So when you are applying for a position in company A and they said they’ll call you back if you got in but they just said that to be polite, why don’t you give a copy of your resume to company B? Some companies say they will contact you to tell you if you got in, don’t hold on to that too much. In ten companies you applied who said this, maybe just one or two might actually call you back for an initial interview.

If you are a first timer in applying for a job, then you might as well be welcomed to rejections and lies, just like the rejections from the girl you asked for a date or your girlfriend goofing off and tell you a different story why she got home too late that time while you were a student. There will be a lot more in applying a job you are not the only one in the whole country wanting to be employed, every year a bunch of fresh graduates will look for a job and maybe just one out of that thousands has already occupied that office, that table, and maybe even that secretary you have dreamed of.

Each time your employer contacts you, don’t show that draggy voice. Have some enthusiasm in you, to let him/her know you are interested enough to get hired. You should have that professionalism in your voice. Always be courteous, have good grammar.

If you are going to send your resume through email, don’t just copy-paste your resume, attach it as a file. The cover letter can be the body of the email. Fill in the subject box comprehensively with the position you are applying for.

If you got used to text messaging by short-cutting words or using abbreviations, this is not the right time to use it. Don’t use fancy font styles. You should have an unswerving fonts and formats.
